UCI Undergraduate Researcher: Additive Manufacturing of Ceramic Matrix Composite Microlattices
April 2018 - July 2018

My Role
This was a project that I supported under the guidance and supervision of a masters student and professor in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering. The goal of the project was to develop a Direct Ink Writing Printer capable of 3D printing Ceramic Matrix Composite Microlattices, that would later be post worked in a furnace process. As a young engineering student, this was a great opportunity to get me engaged in engineering concepts, as well as entertain my enthusiasm for additive manufacturing. My roles and responsibilities are summarized below:
• Worked on the SolidWorks assembly for the Direct Ink Writing Printer.
• Designed and manufactured components for the DIW printer using FDM.
• Collaborated with suppliers to meet design specifications and budget constraints.
The design was handed off to the team at the end of my time with the team to continue development of the printer for their research project.
